Cartly Partner Program

Monetize the apps and themes you publish to the Cartly App Store. Stripe Connect handles billing, tax forms, and monthly payouts — you keep 80% of every sale.

Overview

Cartly merchants build for Cartly merchants. The Partner Program lets any shop developer publish paid apps and themes to the public App Store and earn revenue from installs.

We delegate the entire financial machine to Stripe Connect Express — identity verification, tax forms (W-8 / W-9 / 1099-K), payouts to your bank account. Cartly never holds your balance. You sign up once, KYC takes ~5 minutes, and we route 80% of every charge directly into your Stripe account at payment time. No cron, no manual payouts, no reconciliation.

How it works

  1. Sign up. Go to /admin/developer and click “Start onboarding with Stripe.” You’re redirected to Stripe’s hosted KYC flow. Takes 5–10 minutes.
  2. Publish a paid listing. Once Stripe verifies you, you can set pricing_type to one_time (e.g. theme purchases) or recurring (monthly app subscriptions). Free listings don’t require KYC.
  3. Merchant buys. A merchant clicks Install on your listing → redirects to Stripe Checkout → pays. Stripe atomically splits the charge: 80% to your Connect account, 20% application fee to Cartly. No manual reconciliation.
  4. Payout. Stripe pays you on your default schedule (typically weekly in most countries) — straight to the bank account you connected. You can view balance + transfers in /admin/developer/earnings or jump to your Stripe Express Dashboard.

Eligibility

  • Country. Paid listings require a Stripe Connect Express supported country (US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, India, UAE, Hong Kong, and ~40 others). Developers in unsupported regions can still publish free listings.
  • KYC. Stripe needs identity verification: legal name, address, date of birth, last 4 of SSN (US) or equivalent (other countries), bank account.
  • Approval. Listings go through platform moderation. Plan for 1–3 business days on first submission.

How to publish

After completing Stripe onboarding, go to /admin/marketplace/submit and fill the form. Choose App (OAuth-based, requires existing OAuth app), Integration (connector-based), or Theme. Set pricing, category, description, screenshots. Submit — platform reviews; you’ll see status on /admin/marketplace/my.

Revenue & payouts

Default revenue share: 20% Cartly / 80% you. Stripe application_fee_amount (one-time) and application_fee_percent (recurring) are set at charge time. Refunds atomically reverse both the platform fee and your transfer.

View earnings live: /admin/developer/earnings proxies your Stripe Connect balance + recent transactions (5-min cache). Click Open Stripe Dashboard for real-time data, payout history, and tax forms.

Partner tiers

  • Standard (default) — 20% platform fee. Everyone starts here.
  • Founding — 15% platform fee. Negotiated for early partners building flagship integrations. Contact partners@cartly.pro.
  • Enterprise — 10% platform fee. For high-volume integrations (5-figure monthly GMV). Custom contract.

FAQ

What happens if my Stripe account gets paused?

Your paid listings show a “Temporarily unavailable” badge but stay visible for a 30-day grace period. Existing subscriptions continue (Stripe handles failed transfer retries). If you don’t restore Stripe within 30 days, paid listings auto-unpublish. Free listings are unaffected.

Can I retire a listing?

Yes — “Retire” button on /admin/marketplace/my unpublishes the listing and cancels all active subscriptions at their period end. Merchants finish their paid month, then are removed.

How do refunds work?

Platform admin can issue a full refund through Stripe; the platform fee + your transfer are atomically reversed. You see a negative “Refund” entry in your earnings table.

Tax forms?

Stripe Connect collects them during KYC (W-8 for non-US, W-9 for US) and issues 1099-K annually if you cross the IRS threshold. Cartly does not handle tax forms.
