Email & SMS Notifications
Email and SMS from Your Own Provider
Two first-party apps let your order emails and text messages go out through an account you control: the SendGrid app for email, and the Twilio app for SMS. Install either from the AppStore.
SendGrid (email)
Once installed, open the app from your Installed Apps list and enter your SendGrid API key and sending address. When configured, SendGrid takes over sending for your store — transactional emails (order confirmations, review requests, and more) and email campaigns all go out through your own SendGrid account and domain instead of Cartly's shared sender. If the app is ever uninstalled or its key becomes invalid, your store falls back automatically to whatever provider is configured in Settings → Email, or to the platform default — outgoing mail is never interrupted.
Twilio (SMS)
Once installed, open the app and enter your Twilio Account SID, Auth Token, and the phone number to send from. You can enable a text message to the buyer when their order is confirmed, and separately enable a text to your own phone number on every new sale. Both messages use an editable template with placeholders for the customer's name, the order number, the total, and your store name, so you can word them however you like.
Testing your setup
Each app's settings page includes a test-send action so you can confirm your credentials work before relying on them for live orders.
