Building Your Email List
Cartly includes a built-in newsletter subscriber management system to help you collect and manage email subscribers.
Subscriber Collection
Subscribers can sign up through several touchpoints on your storefront:
- Footer form ā The theme's footer includes an optional newsletter signup form
- Popup form ā Configure a timed or scroll-triggered popup (if supported by your theme sections)
- Checkout opt-in ā Customers can opt in to marketing emails during checkout
- Dedicated page ā Create a newsletter landing page using the page builder
Managing Subscribers
Navigate to Marketing ā Newsletter to view all subscribers. The list shows each subscriber's email, subscription date, and status (active or unsubscribed). Use the search bar to find specific subscribers.
Subscriber Status
- Active ā The subscriber is opted in and can receive marketing emails
- Unsubscribed ā The subscriber has opted out. They will not receive marketing emails. The record is kept for compliance.
Subscribers can unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting your store directly.
Exporting Subscribers
Export your subscriber list as a CSV for use with external email marketing platforms like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or SendGrid. The export includes email, status, and subscription date.
Email Campaigns
Cartly includes a basic email campaign feature for sending newsletters to your subscriber list. Navigate to Marketing ā Campaigns to create a campaign:
- Choose a subject line and sender name
- Compose the email body using the rich text editor
- Preview and send a test email
- Send to all active subscribers or a filtered segment
Compliance
All marketing emails include a mandatory unsubscribe link at the bottom. Cartly respects unsubscribe requests immediately. This compliance with CAN-SPAM and GDPR regulations protects your store's reputation and email deliverability.
Double Opt-In
Enable double opt-in to require subscribers to confirm their email address via a confirmation link. This ensures higher-quality subscribers and reduces spam signups.
