July 2026 brings a rebuilt way to create product variants, cost tracking on every variant, better storefront rendering for multi-option products, and a major upgrade to catalog integrations for merchants who run an external ERP or inventory system.

A modern way to build variants: the Options Builder

Creating variants is now a guided, visual process. Add up to three options — Color, Size, Material, or anything else your products need — and add each option's values as chips. Cartly generates the complete variant matrix for you: every combination of your option values becomes a variant automatically.

Each variant's Price, SKU, Barcode, and the new Cost field are edited directly in a clean grid, and option names are fully flexible — multilingual option names work out of the box. If you remove an option value, Cartly removes exactly the variants that used it and leaves everything else untouched.

Stock is no longer edited from the variants grid. It lives exclusively in the Inventory block, tracked per location, so saving your product details never touches your stock levels by accident.

Track cost of goods on every variant

Every variant now has a Cost field for recording cost of goods sold. Enter it by hand, or — if you connect a catalog integration — let it populate automatically as part of your regular import. This is the foundation for margin and profit reporting coming to Cartly analytics.

Multi-option products, fixed on the storefront

Products with more than one option now render correctly across every marketplace theme — Clarity, Linen, Mono, and Minimal. Option pickers work regardless of how you name your options, and products with partial or sparse variant sets (not every combination filled in) no longer break option selection or add-to-cart. Combinations that are out of stock are now shown accurately instead of appearing available.

Advanced catalog sync with your ERP or inventory system

If you run your catalog in an external ERP or inventory-management system, Cartly's catalog integration now keeps your store in sync in much more depth. Products, stock, prices, images, and option-based variants all sync from your source system — no more manually recreating variant matrices after every catalog change.

You choose exactly which fields sync: name, description, images, SKU/barcode, weight, and custom attributes. Price lists from your source system map directly to Cartly's Price, Compare-at price, and the new Cost field, and custom product attributes map to Cartly metafields. On first import, existing products are matched by SKU and/or barcode, so you can connect an integration to a store that already has products without creating duplicates.

Orders flow the other way too: placed and paid orders export back to your external system automatically, with tax passed through. Updates arrive in real time via webhooks, and a scheduled safety sync runs in the background so nothing falls through the cracks even if a webhook is missed.

Also improved

  • Admin login reliability — login rate-limiting is now scoped to the login endpoint itself, so it no longer affects merchants with active admin sessions.
