Stripe Setup

Connecting Stripe Payments

Cartly uses Stripe as its payment processor. This guide walks you through connecting your Stripe account to start accepting payments.

Prerequisites

You need a Stripe account. If you do not have one, create it at stripe.com. Stripe is available in 46+ countries and supports all major credit and debit cards.

Connecting Your Account

  1. Navigate to Settings → Payments in your Cartly admin
  2. Click Connect Stripe
  3. You will be redirected to Stripe to authorize the connection
  4. Log in to your Stripe account and approve the connection
  5. You are redirected back to Cartly with the connection active

Test Mode vs. Live Mode

Stripe offers two modes:

  • Test mode — Process simulated payments with test card numbers. No real money moves. Use this to verify your checkout flow works correctly.
  • Live mode — Process real payments with real cards. Enable this when you are ready to sell.

You can switch between modes in Settings → Payments. We strongly recommend testing thoroughly in test mode before going live.

Test Card Numbers

In test mode, use these Stripe test cards:

  • 4242 4242 4242 4242 — Successful payment
  • 4000 0000 0000 3220 — Requires 3D Secure authentication
  • 4000 0000 0000 9995 — Payment declined (insufficient funds)

Use any future expiry date and any three-digit CVC.

Webhook Configuration

Cartly automatically configures Stripe webhooks when you connect your account. Webhooks notify Cartly of payment events (successful charges, refunds, disputes) in real time. The webhook endpoint is /webhooks/stripe and is verified using Stripe's signature verification.

Payment Methods

Through Stripe, your store can accept:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay (automatically enabled on supported devices)
  • Additional payment methods based on your Stripe account settings

Payouts

Stripe deposits your earnings to your linked bank account on a rolling basis (typically 2 business days). You can view payout schedules and history in your Stripe dashboard.
