Managing Product Reviews
Product reviews build trust with potential customers and improve your store's SEO through user-generated content.
How Reviews Work
After purchasing a product, customers can leave a review from the product page or their account. Each review includes a star rating (1-5) and optional text content. Reviews are linked to the customer's verified purchase.
Review Moderation
By default, reviews require approval before they are visible on your storefront. Navigate to Products ā Reviews to see pending reviews. For each review, you can:
- Approve ā Publish the review on the product page
- Reject ā Hide the review permanently
- Reply ā Post a public response from your store (great for addressing concerns or thanking customers)
Auto-Approval
If you prefer not to moderate every review, you can enable auto-approval in settings. Auto-approved reviews are published immediately. You can still remove inappropriate reviews after the fact.
Review Display
Approved reviews appear on the product page in the Reviews section. The display includes:
- Average rating with star visualization
- Total number of reviews
- Individual reviews with customer name, date, rating, and text
- Your replies (if any)
Reviews and SEO
Cartly adds structured data (JSON-LD) for product reviews, which can result in star ratings appearing in Google search results. This rich snippet increases click-through rates from search results to your product pages.
Review Notifications
Receive email notifications when new reviews are submitted. This helps you stay on top of moderation and respond quickly to customer feedback.
Encouraging Reviews
Send a follow-up email a few days after delivery asking customers to review their purchase. This can be configured as part of your email automation workflow.
