Connecting Google Analytics to your store
What It Does
The Google Analytics app brings your Google Analytics 4 (GA4) traffic data into your Cartly admin — daily sessions, active users, and new users, plus Top channels and Top landing pages — shown as a clearly-labeled second section on your Analytics page, right beside your Cartly orders and funnel. The two are never merged: your Google Analytics numbers and Cartly's own numbers each stay honest about where they came from.
Connecting Your Account
- Go to the App Store and install Google Analytics.
- Open the app's settings page and copy the Cartly service-account email shown there.
- In Google Analytics, go to Admin → Property Access Management and add that email as a Viewer on your GA4 property.
- Back in Google Analytics, go to Admin → Property details and copy your numeric Property ID.
- Paste the Property ID into the Cartly app and click Test Connection.
There's nothing to install or configure on the Google side beyond granting Viewer access — Cartly reads your property through a single platform-level service account, so no developer work or GA4 API key is needed.
Seeing Your Data
Once connected, go to Admin → Analytics to see your Google Analytics section. Data can take a few hours to appear after you first connect, and GA4 itself has a normal processing delay of 24–48 hours before the newest days are complete — this is how Google Analytics works everywhere, not a Cartly limitation.
Notes
- Google Analytics data is shown separately from — and is never merged with — your Cartly order and funnel analytics, since the two measure traffic differently (cookie consent, ad blockers, and attribution models all differ between systems).
- Only one GA4 property can be connected per store.
- If the Google Analytics app doesn't appear in your App Store, this feature isn't available for your store yet.
