Installing Apps
Installing and Managing Apps
This guide covers how to install, configure, and manage apps from the Cartly marketplace.
Installation Process
- Navigate to Apps and find the app you want to install
- Click Install on the app detail page
- Review the permissions the app requires
- Click Approve and Install
- The app is installed and appears in your Installed Apps list
Some apps may redirect you to the developer's site for additional configuration (e.g., connecting an external account).
Embedded Apps
Most Cartly apps run directly within the admin panel using the App Bridge protocol. Embedded apps appear as pages within your admin, providing a seamless experience. They have access to your admin's look and feel, making them feel like native features.
App Configuration
After installation, click the app in your Installed Apps list to access its configuration. Each app has its own settings interface. Common configuration tasks include:
- Connecting external accounts (e.g., linking a Mailchimp account)
- Setting preferences and defaults
- Configuring triggers and automation rules
- Customizing display options
App Updates
When an app developer releases a new version, you will see an update notification in the Apps section. Click Update to install the latest version. Review the changelog to understand what changed before updating.
Uninstalling Apps
To uninstall an app, go to Installed Apps, click the app, and select Uninstall. The app's access tokens are revoked and it can no longer access your store data. Some apps may leave behind configuration data; contact the developer if you need a complete data removal.
App Billing
Paid apps are billed through Cartly. Charges appear on your monthly Cartly invoice alongside your subscription fee. You can view app charges in Settings ā Billing.
Troubleshooting
- App not loading ā Clear your browser cache and try again. Check if the app developer has reported any outages.
- Permission errors ā Ensure the app has the necessary permissions. Reinstall if permissions were changed.
- Data not syncing ā Check the app's sync settings and verify your external account connection.
